Can you imagine the excitement of seeing your website post on page one of a Google search? How about at the very top of page one? It’s a pretty good feeling, let me tell you! Not only that, your post will be the one most people will click on to get the information they are looking for. It’s not only exciting but it’s quite profitable too! Today I’m going to show you how to get to the top of a Google search.
Now, you might think that’s a hard thing to do. Actually, it’s really not that hard at all. All you need is the correct training to get the knowledge of how to go about it.
The First Thing You Need Is A Website
Do you have a website of your own yet? If not you will need to Build A Website. This will be the foundation that you need to write your content in. This process takes less than 30 seconds to be up and running.
Next You Are Going To Need A Keyword Research Tool.

How To Search For A Keyword
I go into detail about searching for keywords on my page How To Search For A Keyword, check it out. The ultimate keywords are phrases with a lot of searches per month and with very low competition. Anything under 100 competition is good. If your content is really great you could still rank high in Google with under 100 competition. I usually try to stay with a competition under 50. Now if your can find a competition of like 1, 2, or 3, that’s where you’re going to be able to rank right at the top of Google or pretty close to it. Your Keyword Research is about the most important thing you do. Take the time to do it right and you will succeed.
They Call These Keyword Phrases Low Hanging Fruit
That’s when even though there’s not thousands of searches per month, only maybe a hundred or so but the competition is very, very low. It makes sense to search these kind of keywords out. Let’s face the facts. If your targeted keyword phrase has 120,000 searches but the competition is 400, no one’s ever going to see your post in an organic Google search. You will have to pay for advertising to get that post anywhere near the top.
Now let’s look at a different scenario. Let’s say your keyword phrase has 150 searches a month. The competition is 2. Where do you think your post will end up? You guessed it. Right close or at the top! I’d rather have it right at the top with fewer searches and get some clicks and sales than no clicks and no sales at all. Plus then more people will see your website and like it and come back or maybe tell their friends. Which brings me to the next thing you are going to have to do to make Google like you.
Where To Place Your Keyword Phrases
Your post title needs your keyword phrase in it and it also needs to be in the first paragraph of your post. Then just write normal. If your keyword phrase comes up during your post fine, but do not try to insert it where it looks like that’s what you’re trying to do. This is called keyword stuffing and Google does not like it and will punish you by not putting your post at a higher rank than if you just wrote normal.
Make Sure Your Content Is Relevant And Original
Make sure your content is about what your keyword phrase is. If it isn’t then you’ll get readers that aren’t interested in what you have to say. Do not copy from someone else. You can get ideas by reading around and researching thoroughly about your topic but don’t copy other people’s work.
Your Keyword Phrase Has To Make Sense In A Sentence
What I mean is just because you found a keyword phrase with the right criteria, lots of searches and low competition, it has to make sense. Example: “how to make a hat”, that makes sense in a sentence. “Learn make hats”, does not make sense in a sentence.
Don’t Make It Too Short Or Too Long
Make sure your post is at least 400 words. I have heard that Google won’t even rank you for anything less. You should be striving at more like 700 – 800 or even 1,000. I have read that posts should be in the 1,000 range and above. My personal opinion is try not to make it too much more than 1,000. That’s just way too much attention to ask of your readers.
Another thing I just learned is to leave your link somewhere near the top just in case the reader’s attention span is just skimming and doesn’t want to read the whole post, they can have the option to click, join or buy without reading the whole post.
